Dendrosicyios socotrana is the only shrubby species of Cucurbitaceae.
 It is a pachycaule tree endemic to the island of Socotra.
 Highly prized by collectors, this species only reproduces by seed.
 During the growing season (summer) it will appreciate regular watering supplemented with a little fertilizer.
 The substrate must be predominantly mineral.
